The purpose of adult recognition is to honor adult volunteers whose services directly or indirectly support or enhance girl experiences in Girl Scouting. The quality of the individual's accomplishments is a key factor for recognizing someone.
When an individual or group in Girl Scouting has served with unusual distinction for a larger geographic area, formal recognition may be appropriate.
Honoring service by recognizing Girl Scout adults is an established part of the Girl Scout program. These awards reinforce the qualities and service that Girl Scouting values provide.
National and Council level Adult Awards are granted in recognition of volunteers who devote their time and energy to the Girl Scout Movement, and support the Girl Scout Leadership Experience through all pathways.
Some awards are given at GSNEO's annual adult recognition event; others are awarded at the service unit level during a community based awards event.
In completing the form, please do not refer to the nominee by name. This will allow the recognition committee to review all applications objectively based on "the nominee's" qualifications.
Please visit www.gsneo.org for a list of awards, award criteria and the number of endorsements required for each award.
Please be prepared with specific detail about the volunteer you are nominating or endorsing. The nomination process may take up to 30 minutes. You can go back to previous pages in the survey and update existing responses until the survey is finished or until you have exited the survey. After the survey is finished, you will not be able to re-enter the completed survey.
Submissions must be received by the Volunteer Department before February 1, 2013.
