1. Welcome to the Gluten Free Raleigh Survey!

***Greetings from The Gluten Free Raleigh Blog ***

Did you know it is estimated that 1 out of every 133 Americans have Celiac Disease and thus require a strict Gluten Free diet?
Celiac Disease is more common than Crohn’s Disease, Cystic Fibrosis, Multiple Sclerosis and Parkinson’s disease combined, yet remains a largely unknown condition. The only cure for Celiac Disease is to follow a strict lifelong Gluten Free Diet. Following a Gluten Free Diet can be extremely difficult because much thought and preparation is required when preparing ingredients and cooking. This diet can be extremely daunting when dining out which in turn results in Gluten Free folks dining out 80% less than the average person. The same folks believe that less than 10% of restaurants can actually accommodate them. In addition, once they experience a good GF meal, they tend to return to that same establishment 90% of the time.

The following is a survey being used to collect information about businesses in the Raleigh area to determine their Gluten Free Friendliness. It is our intent to contact as many businesses in Raleigh as possible to gather input for this survey. Please take a few minutes to answer the questions in this survey as honestly as possible. The information is being gathered by the Gluten Free Raleigh Blog at http://glutenfreeraleigh.blogspot.com in order to share with people in the Raleigh area who are challenged with a Gluten Free Diet. The goal is to make it easier for Gluten Free folks to find and support businesses in the area. The information you decide to provide will be shared with the loyal readers of this blog, and your decision to not partake in this survey will also be disclosed.

People who have medically necessary Gluten Free diets cannot tolerate any food/drink items containing Wheat, Barley or Rye.
