* 1. You are about to serve as a participant in a psychological experiment. The purpose of this research is to better understand how people make decisions about other people’s behavior and emotions from a limited set of materials. The study is expected to take approximately 25-45 minutes to complete. During this time you will be receiving information about a randomly selected individual and answering questions based on what you learn. A detailed set of instructions follows on the next page. Participation in this study is completely voluntary. You have the right to decline to participate and withdraw from the research now or at any time after the study has begun. If you decide not to continue, please close this webpage. There are no negative consequences of declining or withdrawing. There are no other foreseeable factors that might cause you potential risk, discomfort, or adverse effects. In what follows you may be asked to provide some personal information about yourself such as your sex, ethnic background, or other sensitive information. This information will be kept strictly confidential. At no time will individual names be used when analyzing the data or publishing the results. Individual data will be identified only on the basis of a participant number.
