Undertaking contaminated site assessments can have an environmental impact in themselves, for example, through the generation of waste from single-use products (e.g. gloves, tubing, sampling containers, etc.), as well as the emissions involved in travel to and from sites, sample delivery, and so on.

We would like to understand to what extent sustainable management, climate change mitigation and circular economy practices are currently being implemented by contaminated site practitioners, and how they could be used more routinely to improve the overall sustainability of our industry.

This very short survey has been designed to capture some baseline data from practitioners to help guide the Sustainable Remediation SIG to understand how best to support this and start a conversation to improve everyone’s knowledge of what steps can be taken to improve sustainability on a project, company and industry basis.
