Bill and Tine's Farewell Workshop: What They Forgot to Tell You...
Wednesday, August 27, 1:30-2:30pm
Assembly Hall (Campus Center)
Bill Roberson and Tine Reimers will be leaving UAlbany soon, to take positions in British Columbia, Canada. If ever you’ve had the experience of working and consulting with either of them, we invite you to join us for a special event, in which their 8 years of advice to UAlbany faculty and grad students will be distilled, once and for all time, into a lively session on the topics of teaching and academic leadership. This will be the chance to revisit— maybe even remember!—and take stock of what they’ve been trying to tell us for so many years. We don’t know for sure what they will say in this session, but we hope they’ll answer those perennial questions that so many of us ask, “What would Bill do?” and “What would Tine say? Maybe you’ll discover their secrets for helping faculty navigate the many minefields of academe. Maybe you’ll learn highly prized techniques for “stealth teaching.” Above all, this will be a chance to say “skookum”(“https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skookum), bon voyage and bonne route to Bill and Tine for their new adventure among first nations in the Northwest.
