Geoscience Australia, in collaboration with the New Zealand National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research (NIWA), is carrying out a survey of businesses in southeast Queensland which were affected by the 2011 floods. The survey is aimed at examining the effects on business, including: • disruption to revenue and operations; • direct impacts and losses; • how businesses have coped with loss and disruption.
This information will help to develop a better understanding of these impacts and assist with mitigation planning to help communities in the future. You are invited to participate in this voluntary survey so lessons can be learnt from your experience.
You can complete the enclosed survey form and return it in the enclosed reply paid envelope or access it online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/2011flood. It will take around 20 to 30 minutes to complete. Please return the survey document or complete the online form by March [TBC].
We appreciate that some of the information requested will be confidential and so assure you that the original data and forms will be housed in a secure location at Geoscience Australia. Data will only be provided to the NIWA after all identifying information has been removed. Furthermore, all data collected will be aggregated anonymously before any results are published. If you wish to review the information Geoscience Australia retains about your business, you can contact the survey leader, Mrs. Shelby Canterford, on (02) 6249 9892 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
