2012 Royal Society Young People's Book Prize: Judging Panels Registration
Please fill in this form if you would like to register your organisation as a Judging Panel for the 2012 Royal Society Young People's Book Prize. The Judging panels must be linked to an organisation, and have a responsible adult involved.
The Judging Panels are responsible for reading, assessing and judging the six books that will be shortlisted for the 2012 Royal Society Young People's Book Prize. The 2012 Young People's Prize is for the best science book aimed at young people aged up to 14 years old, that was first published in English in the calendar year 2011.
Please submit only one application per organisation. You are free to have as many groups of judges at your organisation as you wish. We recommend that the young people's judging meetings consist of between 6 and 12 young people, but you can have multiple judging panels participating (some previous organisations have had a total of 120 young people taking part), so long as one result from your organisation is submitted.
We will select 75 panels to receive a set of books, and a judging pack. The judging panels will be spread across the UK and come from a range of organisations. Panels sent books will not be required to return them if results are sent to the Royal Society by the date specified.
If you are not included within this group, and have indicated that you could take part by buying the books yourself, you will receive a copy of the judging pack and certificates for your Judging Panel members.
This form must arrive with us by 6pm on Monday 30 April 2012.
We will announce the selected panels by Monday 14 May, the books and judging packs will also be sent out during this week.
Results are due in by Monday 22 October.
This form is in three parts: the first part below asks for the contact details of an adult at the participating organisation, the second part asks how you want to take part, and the third part asks for some basic information on the young people you expect to participate from your organisation.
When you have successfully submitted the form, a confirmation page will appear. If the survey reappears, please check you have answered all the questions marked with an asterisk *.
