Welcome to the pre-registration page for the Leeds Polarnet (UKPN) workshop 2010. 'Investigating Variability in Polar Climates; Past, Present and Future'
Leeds Polarnet a team of early career polar scientists working at the University of Leeds and we are hosting the first UKPN workshop of 2010. UKPN is committed to education and outreach at all levels, which aims to enthuse the next generation of polar researchers by going into schools and colleges and holding exhibitions at national science festivals, and career development activities such as workshops and network days where polar researchers can share ideas and learn new skills.
This April, Leeds Polarnet are holding a two-day workshop with the dual aim of educating and training and providing a valuable networking opportunity for early career polar scientists, from research Masters and PhD students to junior lecturers expedition leaders and teachers. The conference will hold lectures and seminars on the theme of 'Investigating Variability in Polar Climates: Past, Present and Future' looking at Ocean-Ice-Atmosphere interactions. In addition, early career scientists will have the opportunity to present their own work through poster sessions. The conference will be held in the University of Leeds' new £21 million School of Earth and Environment building which boasts state of the art conference facilities.
