As Southern California's federally mandated planning agency, the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) is responsible for creating the long term vision and investment framework for addressing our area’s transportation challenges, especially those associated with goods movement.

To develop a strategy to address existing and future constraints to the transportation system that undermine network efficiency, reliability and productivity, as well as its environmental and community impacts, SCAG is working with Dr. John Husing, Cambridge Systematics and Lee & Associates. The objective of this effort is to create a greater understanding about the types of warehousing operations throughout Southern California as well as the region’s capacity to handle the future growth of trade. We believe that direct feedback from warehousing and trucking managers is the only way for us to fully grasp the size and operation of the region’s goods handling operations so we can make better decisions about the transportation network’s short and long term needs. The information that you provide will directly influence future investments designed to improve our regional transportation system.

Note: We understand that you may not always have precise information requested in parts of the survey. We ask that you provide the best estimates possible.
