Data collected from this confidential survey will be used for completion of a master’s degree in Psychology at San Francisco State University. The present research study is aimed at understanding what factors (e.g., traits, emotions, attitudes, values) may influence our financial decision making.
If you agree to participate in this research study, the following will occur:
You will be asked to fill out a series of questionnaires on traits, financial values, money management, attitudes toward money, and demographic information. The researcher anticipates that your involvement will take between 45 to 60 minutes.
Important: Some of the questions may seem redundant and we will ask you several questions that are very similar or nearly identical. The reason for this is because some question sets were developed by other researchers and we are using them in the original form, which causes some overlap. Our goal is to develop a better instrument from all these questions - in order to do this, we must ask numerous questions that only differ slightly in wording or slightly in response options. We thank you for answering all these similar questions as honestly as you can.
The researcher, Grant Donnelly, is a student of psychology at San Francisco State University. You have been invited to participate in the study because you are an eligible adult and/or a student at San Francisco State University.
You must be 18 years of age or older to participate. Participation in this research study is voluntary. You are free to decline to participate in this research study, or to withdraw your participation at any point, without penalty. Your decision whether or not to participate in this research study will have no influence on your present or future status at San Francisco State University.
