Girl Scout Sudden Service provides your girls with the opportunity to participate in ceremonial events and special activities generally in the Washington, DC area. Girls Scouts may be invited to the White House or a Congressional event! This program is open to Girl Scouts of all levels.
Sign your troop up to participate in Sudden Service. Girl Scouts are asked, often at the last minute, to perform duties such as: flag ceremonies, help at receptions, usher at special events or just to build an audience.
Requests are made via email. Please respond promptly as Girl Scouts are often selected on a "first come, first served" basis. Some events request girls from a particular community or congressional district, a particular age or ethnic group, interested in a specific topic, or with a certain talent such as singing or playing an instrument. You will be notified if your troop or Girl Scout is selected.
Girl Scouts participating in Sudden Service must have a Girl Scout uniform. You are representing Girl Scouts and we asked for all girls to be cooperative and able to talk about their Girl Scout experience.
If your Girl Scout can do things on short notice--from one day to one month, please complete the form below and submit by October 31, 2015 for the 2015-2016 Girl Scout year. Parents must sign a photo release for their daughters to participate. Sudden Service will count towards Council service hours.
