City of New Bern Community Needs Assessment Survey

The City of New Bern would like to hear from residents, service providers, business owners, and other interested parties on the housing, community, and economic development needs and resources of the community.  This feed back will be used to help the City structure its Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program for the next five (5) years.

This Community Needs Assessment Survey lists CDBG eligible programs and projects and asks respondents to rank each one on the basis of its perceived need in the community.  The priority ranking of High, Medium, Low, and No Need is intended to determine the areas of highest need and the projects and programs in which the City should focus its efforts and funding.

As a CDBG entitlement city, the City of New Bern will receive approximately $263,000 in federal funds from the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) each year.  The Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) funds can be used for housing and community development projects to benefit low- to moderate-income persons. The City wants YOU to have a voice in how these funds are invested.  We need to know what YOU feel are the important needs in our communities. Please assist us by filling out this survey.

If you have any questions about this survey, please contact Sue Steinhauser, Community Development Coordinator, at 252-639-7586 or steinhausers@newbern-nc.org
