* 1. Springfield Area Volunteerism Study
Consent to Participate

The Drury University Center for Nonprofit Communication is conducting a study of volunteerism in the Springfield area.

The purpose of the study is to examine demographics of area volunteers (age, gender, education, etc.), the types of activities they perform, and the various ways their work strengthens individuals, groups, and the community. The study will also examine how for-profit companies and government groups promote and manage volunteer activities among their employees to create a culture of civic engagement.

If you choose to participate, you will complete the survey containing general information questions about your organization's volunteer-related activities. The survey can be completed in 30 minutes or less. Participation is voluntary and you may withdraw at any time without negative consequences.

All responses are confidential, and all reasonable steps will be taken to protect your identity and information. Published survey results will not include names of individuals or organizations, and the results cannot be linked to your responses.

There are no known risks to you for participating in this study. Your participation will provide useful information for an independent report of the nonprofit industry.

This project was reviewed and approved by the Drury University Institutional Review Board (IRB).
