STUDY INFORMATION SHEET
Persona Usage Evaluation in Design Field
You are invited to participate in a research study. The purpose of the study is to review and evaluate the persona usage in design field and its possible impact on design process and design outcome.
If you choose to participate in this study, you will be asked to take a brief online survey. You will be given a set of questions about your opinions on persona usage in design process. The survey will take around 15 minutes.
Results will be kept by the researcher and data analyzed until the end date of the study – 9/15/08. After this point, results will be archived by the researches and will not be destroyed. However, the confidentiality of the data will be kept strictly as I indicated below under the Confidentiality section. The data will be used for analyzing the user experience of using persona in design.
The study will contribute to the re-evaluation of theories and methodologies in the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). The results will lead to better understanding of the design tool, persona, and how to use it in an effective way to benefit user-centered design.
It is a completely anonymous. The raw data collected in this study will be kept forever but will only be seen by the researcher. Research reports will mostly contain aggregate data. However, in the event that an individual response is identified, only a phrase such as, “one designer with five year experiences of using persona” will be used for reference.
If you have questions at any time about the study or the procedures you may contact the researcher, Yen-ning Chang, at 2451 E. 10th St. Apt 904, Bloomington, IN47408, (812)606-3476, and firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you feel you have not been treated according to the descriptions in this form, or your rights as a participant in research have been violated during the course of this project, you may contact the office for the Human Subjects Committee, Indiana University, Carmichael Center L03, 530 E. Kirkwood Ave., Bloomington IN, 47408, (812) 855-3067, or e-mail at email@example.com.
Your participation in this study is voluntary; you may refuse to participate without penalty. If you decide to participate, you may withdraw from the study at any time without penalty and without loss of benefits to which you are otherwise entitled. If you withdraw from the study before data collection is completed your data will be returned to you or destroyed.
