This isn’t really a survey. It’s a contest!
Thanks for participating in the Appeal-Democrat’s “Mythical Bottle of Wine Description Writing Contest.” We’ll donate $100 to the Yuba-Sutter United Way in the winner’s name.
All you have to do is have some fun and make up an astounding, weird and/or humorous description for a fake vintage of wine … maybe one that would come from your specific region, neighborhood, garage, bathtub.
Here’s a real-life description for a bottle sold at the recent Elegant Soiree, a fundraiser for the United Way:
– "An exciting mélange of black fruit, incense, tobacco, licorice and pencil shavings hits the palate with notable depth and sheer power. Darker fruit, tons of melted road tar, smoke and scorched earth add weight on the deep, plush finish ..."
Bet you can create something just as interesting.
Click on the comment box below and type in your description. You must supply your name, the community you live in, and your phone number (for verification only; won’t be published) to be considered for the prize. The contest ends at midnight on Oct. 31.
