ABOUT THE NATIONAL WATER ACCOUNT
The National Water Account 2010 provides a picture of water resources management for the past year for a selection of nationally significant water regions. It discloses the total water resource, the volume of water available for abstraction, the rights to abstract water and the actual abstraction of water for economic, social, cultural and environmental benefit across Australia.
The National Water Account is an annual publication by the Bureau of Meteorology as part of the Bureau’s responsibilities for compiling and delivering Australia's water information.
Over the next few years, the National Water Account will evolve in response to user and stakeholder needs.
