The National Sexual Violence Resource Center, in partnership with the National Alliance to End Sexual Violence, the Victim Rights Law Center, and the National Organization of Sisters of Color Ending Sexual Assault, is conducting a survey of advocates throughout the country to better understand the Public and Section 8 housing problems or barriers that advocates see when working with sexual violence victims and survivors. This is a Part II survey to the housing survey conducted in 2008. We are hoping to hear from both advocates that did and did NOT participate in Part I in 2008.
For the sake of this survey, we would like to know more about sexual violence that occurs outside of an intimate partner relationship. Therefore, when responding to this survey, please have the following continuum of non-intimate partner sexual violence in mind: rape, sexual assault, incest, child sexual assault, sexual harassment, sexual exploitation, exposure, voyeurism, and any other unwanted sexual contact that occurs outside of an intimate partner relationship.
This survey contains 32 questions and should take you approximately 30 to 40 minutes to complete. Please answer the questions that you can in as much detail as possible (no identifying information please).
If you are including information about multiple clients, please differentiate between their various experiences throughout your responses by delineating Client 1, Client 2, Client 3, and so on. For example, when responding to a question about multiple cases, include something like, “Client 1 struggled with housing as follows…Client 2 had the following experience…”
We greatly appreciate your time and insight on the questions that follow. Your responses will help to inform public policy and practices in the housing arena. Please forward any questions or comments about this survey to Donna Greco, Training and Technical Assistance Supervisor, National Sexual Violence Resource Center, at firstname.lastname@example.org or 1-877-739-3895, ext. 131. Thank you for the work you do!
