Overview

The SSC has been tasked with developing the criteria and the process for the selection of the GNSO Representative to the Empowered Community for GNSO Council and carrying out the selection process. The purpose of this poll is to get a sense of the direction of travel from the group and see if consensus is beginning to form on key questions related to this selection process.

Note key takeaways from discussions in recent meetings with Sam Eisner & Trang Nguyen (ICANN org) and James Bladel (GNSO Council Chair, currently serving as interim rep):

- The main purpose of this role is to send and receive notices. The role is primarily administrative.
- The representative may only act as directed by the Decisional Participant (the GNSO).
- The role is not expected to require a significant time commitment and is typically conducted by email.
- It is important that the representative understands the processes related to the EC Admin and the limited scope of the role.
