The Hanover Region for the purposes of this regional plan is defined to include the Townships of Conewago and Penn and the Boroughs of McSherrystown and Hanover, collectively existing in both Adams and York Counties in Pennsylvania.

Capitalizing on strategic location, the Hanover Region will promote its highly desirable proximity to major markets, encourage redevelopment activities and attraction of companies that will add value to the local economy.

The Hanover Region is cooperatively committed to supporting success of existing businesses; building upon its strong manufacturing base by growing existing international trade activity and increasing its already technically skilled labor force.

The Hanover Region seeks to maintain its competitive cost of living and authentic community character, embracing its rich heritage in agriculture, food processing, manufacturing and the Civil War.
