Lymphoedema Education Benchmark Statements (LEBS) for Undergraduate Programmes leading to Professional Healthcare Qualifications |
The Lymphoedema Education Benchmark Statements (LEBS) represent statements for benchmarking education on the lymphatic system and lymphoedema. They are intended for undergraduate programmes of education leading to professional healthcare qualifications in medicine, nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, podiatry and in some countries, remedial massage therapy. It reflects basic knowledge and skills which any person with, or at risk of lymphoedema, might reasonably expect from such health professionals.
It is also hoped that the LEBS will enable achievement of a degree of global consistency and governance in relation to lymphoedema education.
The challenge of adding further content to the undergraduate curricula for any of the health professionals is recognized. Therefore the benchmarks have been limited to basic requirements.
The next step is to identify whether tertiary courses already include any of the content of the bench mark statements and in which part of the curriculum. We request your feedback by completing this 5- 10 minute survey by the 31st March 2017
