Kintore Townhouse Community survey |
Introduction
Action Kintore, Kintore's community charity, are seeking to acquire Town House from Aberdeenshire Council through a Community Asset Transfer. Action Kintore will become responsible for the activities in, and maintenance and upkeep of the Town House.
Following research and community discussions, Action Kintore to bring the Town House back into public/community use through the development of 3 spaces:
- unique meeting/wedding/event venue in the former Council Chambers
- a community gym (ground floor East)
- a space for commercial lease (ground floor West) - e.g. for a shop/retail
There will also be toilet/changing/shower facilities, a small kitchen prep area and some space to display information about Kintore and its history.
All areas of the building will be fully accessible.
Income from the commercial lease and commercial hire of the Council Chamber event space will help keep gym membership costs at an affordable level, facilitating improved fitness and well being for the people of Kintore.
We want to understand the community's feedback and thoughts on these proposed uses for the Town House as we develop our plans and seek funding for the transfer and renovation of the building.
We have engaged external consultants, Delfinity, to help us carry out this work, together with a local architectural practice, Macwilliam Lippe Architects, who have developed initial plans, which can be viewed online at www.actionkintore.org. We will also be holding open mornings for the Town House where you can come and talk to us about the proposals and see the plans.
The results of the survey will be available to all households in the community via the Action Kintore website and there will be the opportunity for residents to discuss the project at a consultation event at the Town House on Saturday 29th March from 10am til 2pm.
We are keen to hear the views of all residents. Please note that the questions with asterisks are mandatory.
There are 9 questions, and it should take about 5 minutes to complete.
If you have any questions, please contact Fiona Smith of Delfinity at fiona@delfinity.co.uk.
The survey will close on 30th March.
Thank you for taking part.
