This survey is for the substance TOCOPHEROLS
- Uses in organic processing/handling: Allowed as an ingredient or processing aid. Must be derived from vegetable oil when rosemary extracts are not a suitable alternative. Tocopherols are one of the main sources of Vitamin E and are one of the few antioxidants allowed in organic.
- Reference on the National List: §205.605 Nonagricultural (nonorganic) substances allowed as ingredients in or on processed products labeled as “organic” or “made with organic (specified ingredients or food group(s)).” (b) Synthetics allowed: Tocopherols—derived from vegetable oil when rosemary extracts are not a suitable alternative.
