Potential Removal of Golden Duplex & ADU Exemptions

.Berkeley's Mayor wants to remove the eviction protection exemption (but not rent control) for GOLDEN DUPLEXES and new construction ADUs. This means tenants in these rental units would have eviction protections under the law and you would only be able to terminate a tenancy for "Good Cause". How much would a loss of that exemption affect your decision to rent out your unit?(Required.)
.How long have you been renting out your property?(Required.)
.When you have a vacancy in your unit, in general, which of the following most closely aligns with your rental strategy?
.We are gathering information for the Mayor and the City Council on this subject. Is there something more you would like for us to share with the Mayor and the City Council on how this change would impact you? (we will not share your personal information and will summarize our findings)
.Which race/ethnicity best describes you? (Please choose only one. )
.What is your age?
.Your name (will not be shared with anyone but BPOA. This allows us to mark you in our database as a GD or ADU owner so we can inform you of upcoming threats.)(Required.)
.What kind of unit do you rent out?(Required.)
.Are you willing to attend any meetings (via Zoom) in which the Mayor and City Council solicits feedback from the Community on removing these exemptions? BPOA would provide you with guidance and/or talking points.(Required.)
