Shoreline Master Program (SMP) Survey

To comply with Washington’s Shoreline Management Act, the City of Lake Stevens is reviewing and updating its Shoreline Master Program (SMP) to make sure it is consistent with any recent changes to codes, policies and state law. The SMP contains rules for what (and how) you can build near certain water bodies in the City, including:
  • Lake Stevens
  • Catherine Creek
  • Portions of Little Pilchuck Creek
  • Stitch Lake
While we’re updating the SMP, we want to make sure that it’s working for the people who use it.  We want to ensure it is achieving its goals to protect and restore natural resources while accommodating appropriate waterfront uses and public access to shorelines.  By answering a few questions in the survey, you can help us understand how the Shoreline Master Program is or isn’t working for you.
