Durham Convention Center and Arts Complex Public Art Survey

We all have stories – experiences, moments and memories that have shaped how we connect to the communities that define the places we live, work and visit. We invite you to share your thoughts and suggestions about public art  for the Convention Center and Carolina Theater plaza located at the corner of Foster and Morgan Streets. Your feedback will assist artist collective David Wilson + WithersRavenel + Signature Design in their design process to create site specific public art for the Durham Convention and Arts Complex, or DPLEX, of which this plaza is part.

The Artist Team will design a system of art elements that visually connect the four buildings of the DPLEX (Carolina Theater, Durham Convention Center, Durham Armory and Durham Arts Council) into a cohesive group so that it can be used and marketed as the Durham Convention and Arts Complex, the DPLEX. The Artist Team is considering art elements that include sculptural elements, mosaic treatments and/or other surface art, and strategic light installations.

We invite you to complete the brief survey below. Thank you for taking an opportunity to share your feedback!
