Re-Opening 597 East Ave

As we contemplate the next steps necessary to re-open our building at 597 East Ave, it will be helpful to know the congregation’s comfort level with the “new normal”.
·      We will continue and expand our current online Sunday service and Zoom coffee hour into the foreseeable future.
·      When in-person services begin, the number of members attending will have to fall within state/local regulations.
·      CDC guidelines recommend that all members wear masks and are seated 6 feet apart, most likely in every third pew.
·      Health professionals strongly advise against any singing or proclaiming loudly.
·      We are waiting for further guidance by the ELCA and Synod regarding celebrating the Eucharist. Most likely, there will be no communion for the foreseeable future.
·      There will be no in-person coffee hour or Sunday morning education offerings.
·      Due to the necessity of extensive sanitation efforts only the Sanctuary, Elevator and 1st floor bathrooms will be open for use.  The Auditorium and Sunday School classrooms will remain closed to the public
·      The role of "Usher" will have different responsibilities for the safety of all and to achieve "touchless" entry, service attendance, and departure. This would include: Touchless temperature checks upon entry, assistance with touchless elevator usage, seating individuals with safe distancing, restroom monitoring for social distancing and sanitation between uses, assistance with departure from building.
