Use: As a nonorganically produced agricultural products allowed as an ingredient in or on processed products labeled as “organic" only when the product is not commercially available in organic form.
Common applications: Stabilizer and thickening agent. Used in jams and jellies. Also in fruit preparations for yogurt and bakery fillings. Can be used in salad dressings, malted milk beverages, and frozen fruit products.
