As part of the application package for the Watanabe Democracy Fellowship, each candidate must ask one person to submit this recommendation form on their behalf, noting why they are a strong candidate for this program.

Fellowship applications must be accompanied by a candidate referral by the application deadline (January 15, 2026) in order for their application to be considered. Recommendations received past the deadline will not be accepted, and the candidate applications will be considered incomplete.

Once received, confirmation emails will be sent to both the applicant and recommender within two business days.
