Listing and annotation: Casings, from processed intestines
Use: As a nonorganically produced agricultural products allowed as an ingredient in or on processed products labeled as “organic" only when the product is not commercially available in organic form.
Common applications: Processed intestines of hogs, cattle and sheep. They are stuffed with sausage. In most instances the casing is consumed with the product, however in some cases the casing is removed.
