Per the BID By-Laws: 

Section 1. Classes and Qualification 
· Class A - Property Owners: Owners of record of real property in the District, further defined as an individual, sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, limited liability company or limited liability partnership shall designate an individual to be a representative to the Corporation.

· Class B - Tenants: Tenants, further defined as: (i) an individual, sole proprietorship, partnership, corporation, limited liability company or limited liability partnership who are occupants pursuant to leases of commercial space within the District shall designate an individual to be a representative to the Corporation.

QUALIFICATIONS: Owners or tenants of properties wholly exempt from real property taxes are not eligible to vote. If you are not the designated representative, please pass this ballot along to the proper individual. Incomplete or illegible ballots will be discarded. Please fill out this ballot for validation.

If you represent multiple property owning or tenant entities, each entity is entitled to one vote. Please add additional entities and identify the Class designation.

Leola Edelin (Class A - new)

Leola Edelin is General Manager of the Renaissance Albany Hotel. Leola started in the hospitality industry as a student at the University of Pittsburgh when she became a restaurant server at Holiday Inn and loved helping people create memorable experiences and making them happy.  Inspired by the General Manager, Barbara McMahon, Leola was determined to become a GM too. In 2015 she achieved her goal in downtown Albany. Within 2 years of Leola’s leadership the Renaissance Albany and Leola herself received numerous awards, among them: 2015 NYS Historic Preservation Award, 2017 & 2018 AAA 4 Diamond Rating, 2017 Leola received Albany Business Review’s 40 under 40, 2018 the Renaissance was recognized as Hotel of the Year and Leola was recognized as NYSHTA’s Outstanding General Manager of the Year for 150+ rooms and Albany Business Review’s Woman Who Mean Business Award & HX Awards Outstanding Woman in Hospitality Leadership. Leola is an active volunteer in her community and sits on 4 boards—YMCA Schenectady Branch, Capital Region Workforce Development, Discover Albany’s Albany Cultural Heritage and Tourism Committee and Executive Committee. Leola lives in Niskayuna and is a wife and mother of two teenage children.

Mohamed Hemmid (Class A - new)

Mohamed Hemmid is the General Manager and Regional Director of Operations at the Hampton Inn and Suites Downtown Albany.  Over the past seven years, Mohamed has held a number of hotel managerial positions in the Albany area. Previously, Mo spent seven years moving up the ranks of hospitality while living and working in Dubai after moving there from his home country of Morocco. Since moving to Albany with his wife, Danielle, and now seven year old daughter, Sophia, Mo has been involved with multiple organizations.  He is currently on the Board for Discover Albany and the International Center of the Capital Region. In his free time, Mo loves watching and playing soccer and is working towards his coaching license so that he can share his passion for the sport with youth in the Capital District.

Lisa Reddy (Class A - new)

Lisa Reddy is the Vice President of Administration, Human Resources & Systems for Omni Group of Companies where since 1988 she has assumed increasing responsibilities in the administration, HR, risk management, and information technology departments. Ms. Reddy is involved in all aspects of the business and has been active in creating, organizing, and executing administration, HR, risk management, and technology related policies. She also supervises and maintains the telecommunications, computer networking, and information technology systems. Ms. Reddy has served on a variety of Boards, including Chair of Girls Incorporated of the Greater Capital Region and Albany Center Gallery.

Elizabeth Young (Class A - new)

In Elizabeth Young’s role with Redburn Development - which recently purchased 7 buildings within the District and is rehabbing them into 350 apartments and 7 street front retail spaces - she oversees property management, leasing, marketing and project design. As COO of Sequence Development and Management, before merging with Redburn, Elizabeth oversaw all day to day company and property operations, designed all project interiors, handled historic tax credit applications, grant applications commercial and residential leasing and more. Prior to working in the real estate field, Elizabeth owned and ran a retail and interior design business, and was the Executive Director and Founder of the Downtown Troy Improvement District.

Tracy Metzger (Class A - incumbent)

Tracy Metzger has been active in commercial real estate in the Capital Region for more than 25 years. In early 2000, Tracy opened her own brokerage and consulting business which has been ranked as one of the top brokerage companies in the Region. More recently, Tracy opened the BEAHIVE, a collaborative co-working environment, on Broadway in early 2012. Tracy received her Paralegal degree from Mount Ida College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Public Affairs at the State University at Albany. She is a licensed real estate broker and has received the designation of Real Property Administrator (RPA) from the BOMA Institute.

David Sarrif (Class A - incumbent)

David Sarraf grew up in Westchester County and then moved to Atlanta, GA, for four years where he attended Emory University. After college, he moved to Albany, NY, where he started developing apartments in the Pine Hills neighborhood for the off-campus student housing market. Since then, he has expanded the residential development to different markets in the Albany area, most notably, Downtown Albany. He has been a part of the efforts to revitalize downtown Albany for a number of years now and will continue to be as he plans to develop more residential units in the future.
Pamela Nichols (Class B - incumbent)

Pamela Nichols is Partner at O’Connell and Aronowitz, a 5-office, 39-attorney law firm that has called downtown Albany its home since 1925. Practicing in the firm’s Personal Injury Litigation Department, she has been named to the Best Lawyers in America list for 2019 and the Upstate New York Super Lawyer’s list since 2012. Pam has also earned the highest level of recognition from her peers with Martindale-Hubbelll’s AV Preeminent Rating. She is member of the New York State Bar Association serving on the Law Practice Management Committee, and is president of Capital Region Affiliate of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. She is also extremely dedicated to The Casey Feldman Foundation, a national volunteer effort focused on distracted driving prevention aimed at youth. The effort earned her firm the Heart of Business GOBY Award for Volunteerism and, most importantly, brought this message to over 13,000+ high school students in New York State. She has enjoyed calling downtown Albany her “second home” since her time at Albany Law School more than 25 years ago and has been a strong supporter within her firm of maintaining a Downtown location.
