Launched in 2025, the Bicycle Queensland Awards recognise the people and organisations making an outstanding contribution to riding and active transport across Queensland.

In 2026, Bicycle Queensland will present four awards:

Excellence in Individual Advocacy - Recognising an individual who has made an outstanding contribution to bike riding, active transport or better outcomes for people who ride in Queensland.
Excellence in Community Achievement - Recognising a community group, club, Bicycle User Group (BUG), association or volunteer-led organisation that has delivered an outstanding outcome for bike riding or active transport.
Excellence in Political Leadership - Recognising an elected representative at local, state or federal level who has demonstrated leadership in improving conditions, opportunities or outcomes for people who ride.
Excellence in Public Service - Recognising a public servant who has made an outstanding professional contribution to bike riding, active transport, infrastructure, policy, planning or community outcomes.

You may nominate for one, several or all four award categories across the next four pages.

Nominees do not need to be Bicycle Queensland members. Nominations should primarily recognise achievements or contributions made during 2026, although ongoing work and its broader impact may also be considered. Nominations close: November 22, 2026

The 2026 Bicycle Queensland Awards recipients will be determined by the BQ staff and board, and will be presented at the Bicycle Queensland End of Year Function in December.
