General Information

This year the 37th GLMA Annual Conference on LGBTQ Health will be held in New Orleans from September 11-14, 2019. GLMA is committed to ensuring students—from across the health professions—are able to attend the Annual Conference. Therefore, we are able to provide a limited number of scholarships to help offset the cost of attending the Annual Conference. Student scholarships are available due to the generosity of GLMA members and conference attendees!

Students of all health professional disciplines are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be students currently enrolled (part or full-time) in an undergraduate or graduate/professional degree program with plans to pursue a career in the health professions.

We will be considering two different cohorts of students for selection: one cohort will be comprised of students local to/near New Orleans, and another cohort outside of the New Orleans area.

Scholarship applications must be received by 11:59pm Eastern on May 17, 2019. Applicants will be notified of scholarship decisions by June.

Please note: Students selected will be required to register for the Annual Conference as a student scholarship recipient, and submit a refundable $50 deposit. This deposit is to ensure completion of all conference duties on site, and will be refunded. Should you fail to fulfill your responsibilities, you will be charged a full student/trainee conference registration, minus your deposit.

In addition to the waived conference fee, volunteers will receive priority consideration for reduced-rate student rooms at the host hotel, if available. Students are responsible for paying for these reduced-rate rooms, if available, once reservations are made.

Unfortunately, no travel funds are available.
