Starting a SAFE Drive

8.Have you contacted the place you are donating to and gotten permission to do the drive?  If your answer is "no", please do not proceed with the drive until you have been given permission as some locations or chapters may be full at the moment and may not be able to accept a large donation.(Required.)
9.SAFE requires that any donations you receive that are gently used are to be washed before donating to an organization directly.  If you are donating your items to one of our SAFE chapter members, they will take care of washing any gently used items.  SAFE has a guide to cleaning stuffed animals listed on the 'stuffed animal drives' page of our website to show you how to do this.  This guide also explains the difference between stuffed animals that are "new" and those that are "gently used".
