Community Survey to Support Strategic Planning

Mahalo for your willingness to share your ideas with Hawai‘i Arts Alliance (HAA) as it works to clarify its role and the priority work it should focus its attention and resources on over the next several years.

Based on feedback HAA received during a series of listening sessions held from May to September 2025, this survey is seeking follow-up input and further clarification on what key stakeholders, like yourself, feel is important for HAA to pursue.

Please share your thoughts by completing this survey before February 3. If you would like feedback from us on the results, please include your name and email address below. "In the next ten years, Hawai‘i's arts and culture community will transition from survival to thriving, rooted in stable funding, a professionalized workforce, and strong sustainable arts organizations. Arts and culture will be recognized as deeply integrated into our social and economic fabric. Hawai‘i will be recognized internationally for its commitment to nurturing and ensuring access to diverse and vibrant arts and culture. Hawai‘i’s young people who want to pursue a career in the creative sector will see a clear pathway forward including a living wage coupled with the ability to carry out work that is fulfilling. The creative spirit will be widely recognized as inherent in all of us and essential to well-being, education, economic diversification, and the preservation of Native Hawaiian and local identity, leading to equitable access and robust support across all islands."

They include 1) Being a Strong Voice and Supporting Others to do the Same; 2) Supporting Workforce Development and Innovation; 3) Serving as a Hub for Collaboration; 4) Ensuring Adequate Infrastructure and Administrative Capacity for a Thriving Ecosystem; 5) Promoting Access and Equity.

Attract diverse funding to support arts and culture across the state
