Free Materials and Services for MiniGrant Applicants

We would like to provide the following materials to you at no cost. Simply let us know what you would like us to send you by checking on the appropriate boxes. You should receive your materials approximately two weeks before your event.

These kits contain: * 2 colorful posters with cool facts about birds, gardening, citizen science, how to attract birds and more. * 1 packet of Lemon Queen Sunflower seeds for planting. * Welcome letter with instructions and drawings of the 16 focal species. * Data form and return envelope. * "Zero Means a Lot" sticker. How many kits would you like to receive?

* Celebrate Urban Birds 'Little Green Places' Poster. One side of this poster shows a cityscape in miniature, illustrating lots of the little green places that support and attract birds.The back of the poster lists bird-friendly plants you can put in containers and gives you ideas for creative uses for these plants. (While supplies last)

* Celebrate Urban Birds Certificates of Appreciation (to award to someone who has entered data after doing the bird observation, or volunteered at your event, or helped plant a community bird garden, etc)

* Celebrate Urban Birds Powerpoint presentation to introduce the 16 focal species of birds to watch for during the 10-minute bird observation.

* Kaytee will be donating some bird feeders (thistle socks) to selected organizations. Please indicate if you would like to receive them. We will fulfill your request if possible, but cannot guarantee that your organization will be selected to receive feeders (we will have very limited supplies. Mini-grant winners will have preference).

* Teleconference between Celebrate Urban Birds staff and your classroom or participants. Please email urbanbirds@cornell.edu to schedule a teleconference. This would be via Skype or another similar system...computer to computer.
