Dear Student

More Good Days At School Project
Your school has been invited to take part in an important national research programme aimed at improving the experience of pupils and staff in secondary schools.

Taking part will give all pupils a say in what helps them to learn better and what supports their wellbeing. We sometimes use the word ‘wellbeing’ to describe that feeling when we are healthy, happy and coping with every day life. The programme will support schools to help students and staff deal better with stress and make sure everyone in the school community feels safe and valued.

The programme is running from January 2024 to March 2025.

Why are you being asked to complete a student survey?
We want to understand your experience of school and what helps you to cope, and what makes school hard sometimes. We want to know this so that we can provide your schools with the best training and support.

What will happen to my answers?
• The survey will be completed online and will be private and confidential.
• No-one at school gets to see your answers.
• We will not know your name.
• We will ask you to tell us what year group you are in and details about your ethnicity and gender at the start of the survey.
• After the researchers have looked at your answers, all of your information will be deleted (by July 2024).
• If you would like help filling in the survey – please ask the teacher who has asked you to complete this.
• If you are worried or upset by taking part in the survey, please tell the teacher who asked you to complete this survey or see your pastoral care lead or other trusted member of school staff.
Important:
• By filling in the survey, you are agreeing to take part.
• By filling in the survey, you are agreeing to let us use your answers to help us understand how to support your school.
