Match with researchers who want to do nursing home studies
Is your organization or facility interested in being matched with a researcher to either design a project together aimed at improving resident outcomes or host them on-site for a day to show them how skilled nursing facilities work?
Please complete this form to nominate your organization and/or facility to be paired with a researcher that shares your interest.
You are not committing to anything at this stage – we want to see if you are interested! We have several opportunities to bring researchers to your site:
- Host a researcher in-person as part of a "Day in Our Community", the NEXT STEPs Experiential Learning Program to familiarize researchers with the day-to-day workflows of skilled nursing facilities.
- Work with a researcher to apply for competitive NIH funding* for a project, either:
- To design a non-pharmacological intervention for managing behavioral and psychological symptoms of dementia, including reducing the use of antipsychotic medications, which your organization could feasibly implement.
- To design an intervention on another topic that reflects your priority.
- Match with a researcher who is interested in evaluating an existing program at your organization.
*Applications will be competitive and will be selected in part on the basis of the provider’s shared interest and commitment to working with a researcher in planning an intervention over a 12-month period.
