About the Conference

"Overview of the Resilience World - State of Science," funded by the National Institute on Aging (NIA) and supported by the American Geriatrics Society (AGS), will be held from Wednesday, October 12 - Thursday, October 13 (arrival on Tuesday, October 11) at the Fairmont Hotel in Washington, DC. The preliminary agenda can be viewed HERE.

This conference will provide a broad overview of resilience and set the stage for the remaining two conferences in the series. The primary focus will be to explore areas of commonalities and differences with respect to the conceptual frameworks and research approaches for physical, cognitive, and psychosocial domains of resilience. We will discuss what we can borrow from each other to operationalize the concept and acknowledge upfront that one definition is not expected. A major goal of these conferences is to define gaps and opportunities and to prioritize key questions for future research. We aim to assemble a diverse group of thought leaders and rising stars who bring unique perspectives and insights to the topic at hand.
