Empower and Create: Women’s Printing Short Course
The Empower and Create: Women’s Printing Short Course will be held on Monday evenings for four weeks at Holmesglen Chadstone Campus commencing 5th October 2026.
The short course is free and is designed specifically for women, girls and non-binary people of all ages who are ready to pursue a printing apprenticeship.
This is not simply an introductory or recreational course. Applicants should be genuinely interested in working in the printing industry and ready to take the next step towards an apprenticeship. An apprenticeship involves paid employment with an employer, combined with formal training, so participants should be prepared to pursue employment opportunities and commit to the requirements of an apprenticeship.
While an apprenticeship cannot be guaranteed at the completion of the course, we are working with industry to identify potential opportunities. Suitable participants who demonstrate strong attendance, keenness, commitment and engagement throughout the course may be invited to interview with potential employers.
Compulsory Information Night
There will be a compulsory online Information Night on Tuesday 15 September, from 6:00–7:00pm.
The Information Night will provide more information about printing apprenticeships, career pathways, what working in the printing industry is really like and what you can expect from the short course. You will also hear from women working in the printing industry and have the opportunity to ask questions.
If you are interested in a printing apprenticeship but are not yet sure whether it is the right pathway for you, the Information Night is an opportunity to find out more before making that decision.
Places in the short course will be held for participants who attend the Information Night and decide that they would like to move forward with the short course and work towards pursuing a printing apprenticeship.
At the conclusion of the Information Night, you will have the opportunity to confirm your place in the short course and commit to working towards a printing apprenticeship, or withdraw from the program if you decide that this pathway is not right for you.
