Empower and Create: Holmesglen Printing Short Course

Creative? Hands-on? Not sure university is for you? A trade could be.

Printing is much more than putting ink on paper. It’s a skilled trade combining creativity, technology, machinery and hands-on work to produce everything from packaging and labels to signage, displays and printed products.

Empower and Create is a FREE four-week short course at Holmesglen’s Chadstone Campus designed for women, girls and non-binary people who are interested in exploring a printing apprenticeship and a paid career in the industry.

Over four Monday nights, you’ll get hands-on experience, learn about different areas of the printing trade and find out whether an apprenticeship could be the right pathway for you.

Where could it lead?
A printing apprenticeship means getting paid to learn a skilled trade — combining employment with an employer and formal training.

We are also working directly with industry to identify potential apprenticeship opportunities. While employment cannot be guaranteed, participants who demonstrate strong attendance, enthusiasm, commitment and engagement may have the opportunity to interview with potential employers.

As this program is designed to support participants into printing apprenticeships, we need to understand whether you are eligible to undertake an apprenticeship in Australia.

Apprenticeships involve both paid employment and formal training, and visa conditions can affect a person’s ability to enter into an apprenticeship. Having permission to work in Australia does not necessarily mean that you are eligible to undertake an apprenticeship.
