We’re excited to announce this year’s GO TEXAN Restaurant Round-Up! Again this year it will be local event-based, and expanded to the entire month of July.  Join other GO TEXAN member restaurants to show your support of local Texas food and beverage producers by hosting an eat-local event at your restaurant, or by featuring a special Texas-themed menu or menu item, during the month of July, 2016. This is a FREE benefit of your membership.

How can your restaurant get involved?

Step 1: Let GO TEXAN help you determine what kind of event or promotion is right for your restaurant brand, goals and community. Check out examples of real 2015 events, first. Then fill out this survey and request free wine and/or beer glasses and marketing materials to use during your event or promotion!

Step 2: GO TEXAN puts out the call to our network of 1700 product and retailer members to find partners to help create and promote an amazing event to celebrate Texas food and beverage at your restaurant location.

Step 3: GO TEXAN delivers contact information for interested members to you so you can move forward with the planning and provides you with a flyer to help advertise it on-site and on-line.

Step 4: Your restaurant and member partners all advertise the event, as does TDA, through social media marketing and promotional efforts, including a custom event listing for you on the event website, www.GOTEXANRestaurantRoundup.com.

*Non-Event Option:
If you’d rather not host an event, you can still participate in the GO TEXAN Restaurant Round-Up! We can instead help you think of ideas to highlight local food and beverage on your menu, or create a new menu special, for the month of July. Simply fill out the survey to start the process.

Food Bank Collaboration:
For this month-long celebration, TDA is once again partnering with the Texas Food Bank Network. Each restaurant hosting an event or menu feature will include their local food bank in a way that pays an immediate benefit to the bank, such as having can donation bins onsite, or collecting money during the event to donate. In this survey you may offer your chef to be pitched by TDA to local news media, along with your local food bank representative, for cooking or interview segments. Feel free to also publicize your participation in the GO TEXAN Restaurant Round-Up month, highlighting not only your support of local farmers, but also your commitment to feeding hungry Texans.

This survey has 10 questions and will answer many of the questions you may have. If you don’t find your answer here, please  email wendy.womack@texasagriculture.gov. Thank you!
