NHL app - User Experience and Usability

I am a product designer (no affiliation with the NHL), who thinks the new NHL mobile app is less than ideal.  As a passion project, I'm spending time to redesign the app.  To ensure that I'm not just designing a solution for myself, I'm curious what fans around the league think about the current application.  Let your voice be heard!
1.When you launch the NHL mobile app, what are you typically looking for?

2.Provide any thoughts you have about the NHL app's home screen (shown above)  This can be general comments, concerns, things you like, or features you wish were there.
3.When you are looking at a game BEFORE IT STARTS (i.e ANA vs. LAK), what information do you expect to find?
4.When you are looking at a game that is IN PROGRESS, what information do you expect to find?
5.When you are looking at a game that is FINAL, what information do you expect to find?
6.When you click on a player card (i.e. Sidney Crosby), what information are you looking for?
7.When it comes to a team's specific page (i.e Buffalo Sabres), what information are you looking for?
8.If you had a magic wand and could change anything about the NHL app, what would you change and why?
