National Benchmarking – Public Galleries Survey 2026

Your participation matters. Thank you for contributing to this critical national survey.

Australian public galleries are vital cultural hubs in our communities, providing safe, welcoming places for people to connect, while inspiring learning, debate, critical thinking and creative expression.

This national benchmarking survey is a critical opportunity to collectively demonstrate the breadth, diversity and strength of the public gallery sector across Australia.

The information you provide will be aggregated to inform the 2026 Australian Public Galleries Snapshot, providing an authoritative, sector-wide picture that supports evidence-based advocacy, strategic planning and investment.

Importantly, it will directly support the National Public Galleries Alliance’s submission to the Australian Government’s national cultural policy consultation, ensuring public galleries are visible, valued and well-represented in future policy decisions.

By taking the time to complete this survey, you are strengthening the voice of Australia’s public galleries and helping to build a more resilient, connected and sustainable sector.

Survey closes: 11.59pm, Wednesday 20 May 2026
