MI Solar Access FY26

Program Summary
The MI Solar Access Program combines the goals and priorities of the Clean Energy for Low-to-Moderate Income Communities Accelerator (CELICA) and MI Solarize into one. MI Solar Access will help provide renewable energy access to homeowners of low-to-moderate income households, small to medium sized businesses and communities that are looking to move towards energy self-sufficiency and climate resiliency. MI Solar Access will focus on implementation of community solar arrays and energy storage systems.

Eligibility Requirements
Applicants must be physically located in Michigan's cooperative or municipal electric utility territory and one of the following:
- Cooperative Utility
- Municipal Utility
- Local or Tribal government
- Non-profit Organization
- Small- to Medium- Sized Business
*Other interested applicants must be physically located in Michigan and the project serving in Michigan's cooperative or municipal electric utility territory.

Priority will be given to applicants who showcase 85-100% of the subscribers are low-income subscribers.

Funding Amount
The funding amount is up to $100,000 per applicant. Awards will be given on a first come, first served basis until funding is depleted, at the discretion of the Energy Unit and program priorities listed in the RFP.

Award Process
Submitted applications will go through an evaluation and risk assessment. Selected applicants will be notified of the funding decision via email. If awarded, the awardee will receive a grant agreement that depicts the terms and conditions of the award. (See the Sample Grant Agreement) EGLE WILL NOT REIMBURSE ANY EXPENDITURES THAT HAVE OCCURRED BEFORE A GRANT AGREEMENT HAS BEEN EXECUTED. Proposals will be accepted until all funding is expended.
