Anchor Initiative Mission:
The Anchor Initiative is Jackson’s private sector contribution toward an overall placemaking effort to make downtown Jackson a vibrant urban environment. It seeks to maintain and grow the economic value of downtown while providing an attractive place where young, talented adults will want to live locally, invest locally and innovate locally.
The intent of Survey:
The intent of this survey is to garner feedback from employees of Jackson’s largest employers to better understand the impression of downtown Jackson, which in turn will help guide strategies for further improvements.
Downtown Jackson: Boundaries
Downtown Jackson, as defined by the Anchor Initiative, is an area bounded by Allegiance Health’s main campus along Michigan Avenue to the east; Ganson Street and the County Fairgrounds to the north; West Avenue to the west; and Franklin Street to the south. The downtown core is an area encompassed by the one-way street pair of Louis Glick Highway and Washington Street extending east along Michigan Avenue to Allegiance Health.
