What is Title V and the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Block Grant?

Title V of the Social Security Act of 1935 established the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Services Block Grant.  It is designed to assist states in their efforts to improve the health of mothers and children.  In Wyoming, the Title V MCH Block Grant is administered through the Maternal and Child Health (MCH) Unit within the Wyoming Department of Health (WDH).  For more info on Wyoming MCH - click here
The Title V Block Grant is a federal-state partnership to address the health service needs of Wyoming mothers, infants and children, youth and young adults, including children and youth with special health care needs and their families.  Each year, the Wyoming MCH Unit prepares an annual report (for the prior federal fiscal year) and an application (for the upcoming federal fiscal year).

One requirement of the Title V Block Grant is to gain public input on the State's annual report and application as well as on emerging priorities and needs facing Wyoming families and communities.
