Possible Amalgamations of Councils across Tasmania

As the union that represent council workers, we want to hear your thoughts on potential amalgamation and their potential impact. This data will be de-identified and used to advocate the ASU position on this issue on behalf of staff. You would be aware an on-going conversation has been going on regarding local government reform, including possible amalgamations of councils across Tasmania. In recent weeks and with the new in-coming elected councils, there are media reports in some areas that discussions are progressing. Unfortunately to date, none of the conversation has focussed on the impacts on staff. The hard-working employees who deliver vital community services every day to all Tasmanians.
