While the Governor’s proposed budget, unfortunately, did not include Head Start California’s $50 million request in dedicated funding for Head Start, the fight is far from over! We have until June to convince the Governor and the Legislature about the importance of Head Start in California and how these funds will serve California’s most vulnerable children and families.
Over the following months, it will be important for our state policymakers to hear about how this budget request will support specific programs. To that end, we are asking program directors to fill out a brief survey to help us understand how programs would use the funding if allocated. We also appreciate knowing if you or another member of your staff is willing to be contacted for media interview requests.
