Ideas for Entrepreneurship Education Programs

USASBE has taken significant steps to build competencies and infrastructure to provide year-round programming for members and the broader entrepreneurship education community.  The Programs Commission is now opening up access to members and partners to share innovative and engaging programming ideas that further the mission of USASBE.

This Program Idea In-take Form will help the Programs Commission collect ideas from members and partners for consideration as we implement programs that align with USASBE's mission and strategic plan.

There are a few categories of programs already within the competencies of USASBE:  Symposia, Certificates, Professional Development Workshops, and Immersion programs.  Members and partners are encouraged to utilize these categories for submitting ideas.  There is certainly room for other kinds of ideas should you wish to propose them.

Symposia:  Topical themes of hybrid events that focus on sub-disciplines of entrepreneurship education and can include areas for research, teaching, and practice.  Symposia are typically 1-2 day events on campus or at a partner location. Note: There is typically a financial support requirement to host a Symposium at an institution or partner.

Certifications: Content-specific professional development which should include pedagogical competencies, skills, or techniques, or could include translating entrepreneurship research into teaching and practice.  A demonstration of competency is required for certification.

Professional Development Workshops:  These programs are topics of importance or innovation for educators. No specific level of competency is required, but a certificate of completion is issued for those who finish the program.

Immersion Programs: Professional development programs taking place over multiple days to advance entrepreneurship education within any context (K-12, higher education, community or ecosystem, online, etc.).  These are typically in-person and require travel or significant logistical assistance.

Other: Other program ideas are welcome for consideration.

Deadlines for review by the Programs Commission (Recommended):
For 2023:  February 28th & September 20th

Review Process:
The Programs Commission commits to reviewing proposals in March and October of 2023.  Rolling submissions are welcome, and may be considered as time allows.  The Programs Commission will review materials submitted on this In-take Form, and either HQ or the Programs Commission will ask for more information if needed.
