Background

One of the goals in CEC’s Strategic Plan is that “[e]ducators will be highly competent professionals entrusted to provide quality instruction that will enable all students to pursue their full potential.” The Board of Directors recently approved a motion to develop an action plan to address the shortage of special educators including recruitment, preparation and retention.


The two Student Representatives to the Representative Assembly (CEC's membership advisory body to the Board of Directors) will summarize the input received to the following questions for the discussion at the RA's meeting at CEC 2018 with the goal of helping CEC identify what it can do to help in the retention of early career special educators.
