Job Description

Youth Reps are integral to our organisation at Kāpiti Youth Support. Our Youth Reps act as a bridge between KYS and the students. They help to ensure KYS is a safe, fun, non-judgmental, confidential and comfortable place for all young people.

Within your role you will work one weekly, paid, after school shift at our Paraparaumu clinic, as well as attend one weekly, unpaid, after school meeting.
You will be given many exciting opportunities to plan community and school events, participate in Fun Days and team building activities, and learn how to use MedTech (the nationwide medical computer system).
During your time as a Youth Rep, you will be immersed in a professional environment where you will learn important life and workplace skills such as; reception tasks, budgeting, and event management. You will get the chance to interact with KYS’ diverse staff, and observe their many different professions including; Drs, Nurses, Psychologists, Social Workers, Administrators and more. As well as gain in-depth knowledge and understanding about their roles and journey to get to where they are today.
*Applicants must be enrolled as a year 13 student for 2027 at either PC or KC to be eligible to apply.
